Six Killed, Seven Injured in Meegoda Accident; Driver Remanded

Six people were killed and seven others injured when a cab veered off the road and crashed into a crowd near a Vesak Dansala in Meegoda. Police have confirmed that the 42-year-old driver, a resident of Piliyandala, was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Among the deceased were three females, including a 15-year-old girl. The suspect, who initially fled the scene, was apprehended by police and has been remanded until June 16 by the Homagama Magistrate's Court.
