Sinopec and Lanka IOC Increase Super Diesel Price to Rs. 600 Per Litre

Sinopec Energy Lanka (Private) Limited has announced an increase in the retail price of Super Diesel. The price of Super Diesel has risen by Rs. 28, bringing the new price per litre to Rs. 600. This adjustment became effective from midnight on April 6th. The company stated that prices for Octane 92 Petrol and Lanka Auto Diesel (LAD) remain at government-approved rates, while Octane 95 Petrol prices also saw no change. Sinopec's pricing for premium products like Super Diesel is determined by prevailing international market prices, as permitted by the government.

New reports clarify that Lanka IOC increased its Super Diesel price by Rs. 28 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs. 600. This corrects an earlier report of an Rs. 18 hike. Additionally, Lanka IOC has revised the price of XtraMile Diesel from Rs. 551 to Rs. 590 per litre and XtraGreen Diesel from Rs. 588 to Rs. 620 per litre, effective April 8, 2026. The price of Auto Diesel remains unchanged. Furthermore, Lanka IOC has increased the prices of all cleaning agents by 25%, effective from midnight on April 8, 2026.

A new report indicates that Lanka IOC has not made any revisions to the prices of its other fuel types, apart from Super Diesel, effective from April 8, 2026. This contradicts earlier reports of price adjustments for XtraGreen Diesel, XtraMile Diesel, and XtraPremium Petrol.

Lanka IOC's Super Diesel price increase to Rs. 600 per litre involved a Rs. 18 hike. Additionally, Lanka IOC has also revised the prices of its premium fuel products, setting XtraGreen Diesel at Rs. 620 per litre, XtraMile Diesel at Rs. 590 per litre, and XtraPremium Petrol at Rs. 465 per litre, all effective from April 8, 2026.
