Severed Head Washes Ashore as Headless Body Found Near Beruwala Railway Line

Police in Aluthgama are investigating the discovery of a severed human head that washed ashore on Moragalla beach on the morning of May 23rd, identified as belonging to a male whose identity is yet to be established. Separately, police near the Beruwala railway line discovered a headless body, identified as a 34-year-old male resident of Lihinawa, Matugama. The victim's head was found in one location and the body in another, with a travel bag also recovered. Authorities are examining the circumstances, considering possibilities of suicide or murder, as no witnesses reported seeing the individual hit by a train. Both Aluthgama and Beruwala police are conducting parallel investigations into the incident.
