They were reportedly detained by UAE security authorities over allegations of keeping images and video footage of drones and missiles used in Middle Eastern conflicts on their mobile phones, and for engaging with such content on social media platforms. The deportees, aged between 23 and 33, hail from various areas of Sri Lanka. Upon their arrival, Sri Lankan authorities are expected to investigate potential links to underworld activities, organized crime, or drug networks.
