Sevanagala Sugar Factory Suspends Operations Indefinitely Amid Worker Unrest

The Sevanagala Sugar Factory has been temporarily shut down indefinitely starting August 29, following significant disruptions to production caused by ongoing worker unrest and trade union action. Management stated that although employees reported for duty from August 25, normal operations and production could not resume properly, severely impacting the factory's financial standing. This decision was made to mitigate further financial losses incurred due to the work stoppage. The factory will continue to operate only essential services until further notice.
