Senior DIG Seeks Court Protection from Arrest in Easter Attacks Probe

Senior Deputy Inspector General (SDIG) of Police Waruna Jayasundera has filed a writ petition before the Court of Appeal. He is seeking an order to prevent his arrest without reasonable cause in connection with ongoing investigations into the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks. The petition names the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Attorney General as respondents, along with other relevant officials. The Court of Appeal has scheduled the petition for confirmation on June 12.
