School Student's Body Recovered from Keselgamu Oya

An 11th-grade student, S. Wageeshan, from Norwood Aiyarby Tamil Maha Vidyalayam, has reportedly gone missing after drowning while swimming in the Keselgamu Oya this afternoon. The incident occurred at a deep section known as "Silver Wala" in Norwood, where Wageeshan was swimming with friends. His companions attempted to rescue him but were unable to, prompting them to inform authorities. Norwood Police confirmed the disappearance and are currently investigating the incident.

The body of Seetharan Wageeshan, the 11th-grade student who disappeared while swimming in the Keselgamu Oya, was recovered today, April 5th, from a deep spot in the "Silver Wala" area. Navy divers from the Colombo Port Rangala Naval Base assisted in the recovery operation. He had reportedly been bathing with 11 friends when he went missing on the afternoon of April 4th.
