Russian National Dies in Fatal Train Collision at Kabalana Crossing

A 23-year-old Russian national tragically died on April 19 after being struck by an express train at the Kabalana railway crossing. The incident occurred in the morning as the woman was reportedly riding an electric motorcycle across the tracks. The train involved was traveling from Beliatta to Colombo. Authorities confirmed that the warning signals at the railway crossing were active at the time of the collision. The injured woman was transported to Koggala railway station, where she was pronounced deceased. The Ahangama Police are currently conducting further investigations into the accident.
