A Russian-made 9mm pistol and 15 live rounds of ammunition were recently discovered buried in the garden of Karandeniya Raju's residence in Meetiyagoda. New details confirm the Russian-made 9mm pistol and 15 live rounds were recovered from the residence of Sobanahandi Sanath de Silva, alias 'Karandeniye Raju' (or SF Raju), who is the brother of organized criminal Karandeniye Sudda. The firearm and ammunition were found buried in the garden of his Karandeniya home. Police suspect the pistol was used in several murders orchestrated by SF Raju. Investigations are also underway concerning a lawyer with close ties to the suspect. Raju was recently extradited from India and is currently under 90-day detention.
