The Registrar General’s Department (RGD) recently launched a new call center and a modernized official website, coinciding with its 161st anniversary as one of Sri Lanka's oldest state institutions. This initiative aims to enhance and digitalize public services, ensuring greater efficiency for citizens. The new system features a dedicated "1930" hotline and a user-friendly website, both accessible in Sinhala, Tamil, and English. The launch event was held under the patronage of Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, Professor Chandana Abayarathne. Minister Abayarathne emphasized the crucial role of digitalization in overcoming contemporary challenges and contributing to the government's broader goal of modernizing public services.
