Puttalam Train Services Resume After Flooding Disruptions

Train services on the Colombo-Puttalam railway line have been limited to Chilaw Railway Station due to sudden flooding caused by adverse weather. The Department of Railways stated that several sections of the track in the Thilladi area have been inundated, with water levels continuing to rise. This restriction is in effect for today (May 13) and tomorrow (May 14). As a result, the Puttalam office train and all other services will operate only up to Chilaw, and further updates on operations beyond Chilaw will be provided.

Train services on the Puttalam line have been fully restored as of 3:00 PM on May 14th, following disruptions caused by flooding in the Thiladiya area. Sri Lanka Railways confirmed that services have now returned to normal and are operating according to schedule.
