Professor N.D. Fernando Appointed New Vice-Chancellor of University of Kelaniya

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed Professor N.D. Fernando as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. The appointment letter was handed over by Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake on August 22, 2026. Professor Fernando, who previously chaired the People's Bank, has been a professor in the university's Department of Finance. His tenure officially commences on August 24, 2026.
