Prime Minister Emphasizes Mature Religious Leadership for Communal Coexistence

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya recently highlighted the critical importance of mature religious leadership in fostering harmony and cooperation among communities. Speaking at a ceremony held on Wednesday, the 13th, in Sudampaya, Anamaduwa, the Prime Minister emphasized this point in areas like Anamaduwa, where Sinhala, Tamil, and Muslim communities coexist peacefully. The event marked the presentation of the official appointment letter to Venerable Anamaduwe Dharmakeerthi Sri Panyanananda Thero, formally conferring upon him the title of Chief Sanghanayaka of the Rajavanni and Kumaravanni provinces. Dr. Amarasuriya also acknowledged the new Sanghanayaka Thero's extensive service to the Sasana and education over five decades.
