Prime Minister Addresses Indigenous Community's Land Rights Concerns

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya met with Indigenous community leader Uruwarige Wannila Aththo at the Parliament premises on June 12th. The discussions centered on the challenges faced by the indigenous community, with Wannila Aththo highlighting difficulties in accessing and utilizing their traditional ancestral lands and safeguarding their land rights. Prime Minister Amarasuriya affirmed the community's right to enjoy their traditional lands without hindrance and pledged to expedite necessary legal measures to address these concerns.
