Presidential Commission Inspects Norochcholai Plant Amid Coal Import Probe

A Presidential Commission of Inquiry, appointed to investigate alleged irregularities in coal imports from 2009 to the present, recently conducted an on-site inspection at the Norochcholai Lakvijaya Power Plant. Led by Commission Secretary D.V. Bandulasena and other investigating officers, the delegation observed the complete process of coal handling and electricity generation, from unloading and storage to sampling and control room operations. The inspection focused on gathering details about the entire coal supply chain and power production cycle. This visit is part of the commission's mandate to probe potential discrepancies in coal procurement.
