The President also officiated the foundation stone laying for a new Rs. 3004 million heart surgery and cardiovascular treatment unit at Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital. This eight-storey facility is being constructed under Japan's JICA loan scheme. The President reiterated that the health sector is being steered towards a broader path for the well-being of the people.
