President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed officials to expedite the resettlement of families in the Kandy District who were displaced by Cyclone Ditwah. During a Kandy District Special Coordinating Committee meeting, the President reviewed the progress of land release for resettlement and stressed the importance of resolving outstanding issues promptly. It was revealed that over 5,500 families remain displaced six months after the cyclone. In response, the government has decided to extend the monthly rental allowance of Rs. 25,000 for these families by three months.
