President Anura Kumara Dissanayake today inaugurated the Rs. 32 billion Thambuttegama Water Supply Project, designed to deliver safe and clean drinking water to residents in the Thambuttegama, Thalawa, and Galnewa areas. Drawing water from the Angamuwa Reservoir, the project covers 42 Grama Niladhari divisions and is anticipated to benefit 91,810 people by providing 25,000 new water connections. In parallel, construction commenced on the Kebithigollewa and Horowpothana Water Supply Projects, which are being implemented with JICA assistance and have a combined cost of Rs. 52 billion.
