Construction of a new eight-storey cardiac care complex at the Trincomalee District General Hospital commenced today under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. The project, costing Rs. 2.4 billion, is funded by the Government of Japan through JICA as part of the Healthcare and Medical Services Improvement Project. This new facility aims to provide comprehensive and advanced heart disease treatment services for the Eastern Province under one roof. It will feature state-of-the-art operating theatres, outpatient and inpatient facilities, and fully equipped laboratories to enhance cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment.
