President Dissanayake Visits Kandy, Seeks Blessings from Prelates Ahead of Esala Perahera

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake visited Kandy on the afternoon of August 27, 2026, to participate in the annual Esala Perahera. He paid homage at the historic Sri Dalada Maligawa and subsequently called upon the Mahanayake and Anunayake Theros of the Malwathu and Asgiriya Chapters. The President received blessings and engaged in brief discussions, beginning with Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Mahanayake Thero at the Malwathu Maha Viharaya. During his visit, he also interacted with the public gathered for the religious procession.
