President Anura Kumara Dissanayake participated in Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebrations and a housewarming ceremony on April 14th morning in Anuradhapura. The event took place at the new residence of H.M. Indrajith Sampath Senaratne in the Malbeligala Grama Niladhari Division of Galnewa Divisional Secretariat. This home was rebuilt within five months under a government compensation scheme after being completely destroyed by the Ditwa cyclone. It is one of six new houses being constructed in the Galnewa Divisional Secretariat for fully damaged properties, with compensation also provided for sixty-six partially damaged homes in the area. The Presidential Media Division confirmed the President's attendance, where he extended greetings to the local community.
