President Directs Uninterrupted Fertilizer Supply for Farmers Amidst Regional Tensions

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has affirmed the government's primary objective to guarantee an uninterrupted supply of fertilizer to farmers. This directive was issued in response to potential challenges arising from the prevailing Middle East war situation, which could impact fertilizer imports. During a discussion held at the President's Office on April 2, President Dissanayake instructed officials to further streamline the existing fertilizer distribution mechanism. He also called for the exploration of alternative measures to mitigate any obstacles to fertilizer importation. The meeting included the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, along with senior officials from the ministry and related institutions.
