President Directs Completion of LKR 500 Billion Ditwah Projects Within Year

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed that all projects funded by the LKR 500 billion allocation for Cyclone Ditwah recovery must be completed by the end of this year. He underscored the responsibility of political and public officials to ensure these funds are utilized effectively and efficiently for the development of affected areas and lives. The President also called for the establishment of a new culture where all citizens are equal before the law, encouraging officials to carry out their responsibilities without fear. It was also noted that compensation and student assistance payments for Ditwah-affected families in the Matale district have been fully disbursed.
