President Dissanayake Pledges to Build Just Nation at War Heroes' Commemoration

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake pledged at the 17th National War Heroes’ Commemoration Ceremony in Battaramulla to build a nation upholding "universal justice" (සර්ව සාධාරණත්වය පිරි නීතිය), fulfilling the aspirations of the war heroes. He vowed not to suppress or betray these aspirations. The President also highlighted that the war heroes' aim was to make the motherland a "developed state" (සංවර්ධිත රාජ්යයක්) and acknowledged their significant service in "wiping the tears of the twenty million people".

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake attended the 17th National War Heroes’ Commemoration Ceremony held in Battaramulla on May 19th. Speaking at the War Heroes' Monument, he pledged to build a developed, just, and strong nation that fulfills the aspirations of the war heroes who liberated the country from 30-year separatist terrorism. He emphasized honouring their sacrifices by building a progressive nation and warned against the country becoming a victim of racism and religious extremism.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake visited the Ranaviru Sevana in Ragama on May 19th. He inquired about the well-being of military personnel undergoing treatment, commending their sacrifices for the nation's unity. The President also engaged with the medical staff, exploring avenues to enhance medical and other services for the soldiers. The Minister of Science and Technology was also present.
