Sri Lanka Police are set to implement strict measures against motorcycles producing excessive noise during the Poson festival season. Vehicles fitted with modified silencers causing public nuisance will be seized and brought before the courts, announced Deputy Inspector General of Traffic Control and Road Safety W.G.J. Senadheera. He highlighted that around 1,000 similar motorcycles were confiscated during the Vesak festival, and riders of offending vehicles will be arrested under the Motor Traffic Law. Special traffic operations, including roadblocks and patrols, will target these modified exhaust systems to enforce sound limits.
