The incident occurred during a drug-related raid when officers attempted to intercept two individuals on a motorcycle. According to reports, one suspect allegedly attempted to attack a police officer with a sharp weapon before police discharged their firearms. The injured suspect was admitted to Kalubowila Teaching Hospital, while a second suspect managed to escape. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the escaped individual and clarify the full circumstances, which reportedly followed an alleged earlier attack on a house in Boralesgamuwa.
