Police Seize 19 Revolvers and Rs. 10 Million in Drugs in Dematagoda Raid

The Western Province North Crimes Division conducted a major operation in Dematagoda on June 3, 2026, leading to the arrest of four suspects. During the raid, authorities seized 19 locally manufactured revolvers and a substantial quantity of drug tablets valued at over Rs. 10 million. Police reported finding more than 100,000 tablets hidden at the location. The seized firearms and narcotics are reportedly linked to the family of Dematagoda Chaminda, a death row inmate known for large-scale drug trafficking and organized crime. All suspects are currently in police custody, and further investigations are underway.
