Police Open Fire on Defiant Three-Wheeler in Borella, Arrest Five Carrying Swords

Police in Borella opened fire on a three-wheeler after its occupants allegedly failed to comply with orders to stop. The vehicle, reportedly originating from the Kompannaweediya area, was pursued by officers before shots were fired in the Veluwana area. Five individuals were subsequently taken into custody, and three swords were recovered from inside the three-wheeler. Police indicated the suspects are residents of Kolonnawa and were allegedly traveling to engage in a confrontation.
