Police in Hungama opened fire on a lorry suspected of illegally transporting cattle in the Kattakaduwa area this morning (20). The vehicle reportedly failed to comply with police orders to stop at a roadblock and attempted to flee. Officers pursued the lorry, eventually firing shots to bring it to a halt. Four suspects were arrested in connection with the incident. One suspect sustained injuries and has been admitted to Tangalle Hospital for treatment.
