Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya virtually participated in the opening of the 'Silver Age Center', a new Elder Care, Training, and Research Centre equipped with modern facilities in Kataragama on March 31st. Speaking from the Ministry of Rural Development, Social Security, and Community Empowerment, the Prime Minister underscored the need to build a society that ensures the safety, freedom, happiness, health, mobility, and spiritual well-being of all senior citizens. She further emphasized that safeguarding these rights is a shared responsibility of both the government and society. Representatives from the National Council for Elderly Persons were also present at the event.
