PM Amarasuriya: Schools to Host Only Government-Approved Programs

Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya has stated that schools should only host programs with official government approval. Speaking at a discussion with North Central Province education authorities in Anuradhapura, she emphasized that external organizations and groups must obtain government sanction before organizing any activities within the school system. The Prime Minister stressed that the government's primary commitment is to provide quality education, and decisions must prioritize this goal. This directive follows a parliamentary query where she clarified that while there is no ban on MPs observing school activities, using school events for political exploitation is opposed.
