PM Amarasuriya Directs Swift Cyclone Ditwah Compensation and Rebuilding Efforts

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya chaired a meeting of the "Rebuilding Sri Lanka" Presidential Task Force on April 7 at the Presidential Secretariat. During the session, extensive discussions were held on the program's current progress and future plans. The Prime Minister issued directives to officials, emphasizing the need to expeditiously complete compensation payments for individuals affected by Cyclone Ditwah. Furthermore, instructions were given to ensure the systematic and swift repair of damaged houses and construction of new residences. This follows an earlier discussion on March 28 at Temple Trees, where recovery measures and relief efforts were reviewed with civil society organizations, and a status report on government actions, including compensation via District Secretariats, was presented.
