PM Amarasuriya Departs for Bhutan to Address Global Conscious Food Systems Summit

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya departed Sri Lanka on Monday, August 31st, for an official visit to Bhutan. She is attending the Global Conscious Food Systems Summit (GCFSS), a high-level international gathering focused on sustainable food systems. During the summit, which runs from August 31st to September 4th, 2026, Dr. Amarasuriya will participate in the opening plenary session on September 1st. She is slated to deliver a keynote address titled "Rising to the Moment: Igniting Consciousness to Address the Polycrisis." The visit also includes discussions with international leaders on strengthening cooperation in areas like food security and community-driven development.
