Parliament Approves Forwarding COPA/COPE Reports to Attorney General for Legal Action

Parliament has granted unanimous approval to forward investigation reports compiled by the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) and the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) to the Attorney General and the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption. This decision paves the way for further legal action and observation on matters including alleged financial irregularities and fraud at the Motor Traffic Department (RMV). Additionally, a report concerning a scheme to grant licenses for importing fully electric vehicles using foreign remittances from overseas workers will be sent for legal review. This marks a significant development, being the first time a parliamentary committee report has been directly referred to the Attorney General for legal observation and subsequent action.
