Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa Urges Unity and Accountability for Easter Attacks

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, in his Easter message, emphasized that building a strong state and a society founded on trust and peace is a collective responsibility. He extended wishes to the people of Sri Lanka, noting Easter as a sacred occasion symbolizing hope, resurrection, and new beginnings. Premadasa highlighted that despite the celebrations, the painful memory of the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks on churches and hotels continues to linger. He asserted that it is a grave national failure that justice and accountability for those killed, injured, and affected have not been delivered, attributing this to the shortcomings of both past and present governments, seven years after the brutal incidents.
