Oil Tanker 'Honour 25' with Sri Lankan Crew Member Hijacked Off Somali Coast

The oil tanker Honour 25, carrying 18,500 barrels of oil, was hijacked by pirates late Wednesday approximately 30 nautical miles off the Somali coast. The vessel's 17-member crew includes one Sri Lankan, ten Pakistanis, four Indonesians, one Indian, and one Myanmar national. The tanker was reportedly en route to Mogadishu, the Somali capital, when it was seized by six gunmen. Security sources indicate the ship is currently anchored near the Somali coast, marking a resurgence of piracy in a region that had seen a decline in such incidents over the past three years.
