The apology was conveyed in an email addressed to SLC CEO Ashley de Silva, with copies to President Shammi Silva.

During the Colombo District Court hearing on April 9th, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) formally informed the court of its intention to file objections against Nuwan Thushara's petition. The petition seeks an interim order for SLC to issue him a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the 2026 IPL and other international league tournaments. Senior Counsel G. G. Arulpragasam and Attorney Kanchana Peiris represented the petitioner at the hearing.
