New US Ambassador Eric Meyer Arrives in Sri Lanka to Assume Duties

Eric Meyer, the new U.S. Ambassador-designate to Sri Lanka, has arrived in Colombo. He arrived on the evening of August 22, 2026, to assume his duties as the 29th United States Ambassador to the island nation. Meyer, a senior foreign service officer with experience in South and Central Asian affairs, expressed his honor and enthusiasm for the role.
