Nepal Flash Floods Leave Over 800 Missing, Including 644 Tourists

Devastating flash floods in Nepal have resulted in 826 people missing, according to disaster management authorities. The Nepal Tourism Board reports that 644 tourists and travellers are unaccounted for, including 517 foreign nationals and 127 Nepalis. Among the missing foreign nationals are significant numbers of Indian (178), American (65), Ukrainian (53), and Malaysian (51) citizens. Authorities have confirmed that no Sri Lankan nationals are among the missing, though 83 Sri Lankans are currently in Nepal. Search and rescue operations are ongoing for those still unaccounted for following the disaster along the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers.
