Negombo Prison Clash: Chief Jailer, 19 Others Noticed for Identification Parade

A significant legal development has emerged following a fatal clash at Negombo Prison that resulted in the deaths of 32 individuals. The Negombo Chief Magistrate's Court has issued orders for 20 people, including the chief jailer and several prison officers, to appear for an identification parade. This parade is scheduled to take place on September 8 as part of the ongoing investigation. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is leading the inquiry, having previously identified 70 suspects in connection with the incident. The court has also directed that post-mortem examination reports for the deceased be submitted.
