A three-day national dengue prevention and control program, initiated by the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, has identified dengue mosquito larvae in a significant number of premises across Sri Lanka. During the first day of the program on June 8th, 2,097 premises out of 31,196 inspected were found to have larvae. Notably, 50 out of 189 state institutions inspected on the same day also harbored larvae. The second day of the program, June 9th, saw 1,864 premises identified with larvae from a total of 31,155 inspected. The program, which covers 14 districts, aims to curb the spread of dengue fever.
