The 'Ratam Ekata' National Operations Council convened today at the Presidential Secretariat, presided over by Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Ananda Wijepala. The meeting's primary focus was on eradicating the drug menace through legislative action. Key discussions revolved around amending laws to ensure the prompt destruction of seized narcotics, thereby preventing delays. The council also emphasized expediting the final stages of these legal amendments, based on proposals submitted by a committee appointed by the Cabinet.
