Namal Rajapaksa: Pillaiyan Prison Visit Not Secret, Alleges Political Maneuvering

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organizer Namal Rajapaksa has stated that his visit to remand prisoner Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, also known as Pillaiyan, was not a secret. Rajapaksa made the remarks via a social media post on X, responding to reports that the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) informed the court of his visit. He alleged the government is orchestrating such events as a 'media show' to target political rivals with ulterior motives. Rajapaksa also highlighted Pillaiyan's past involvement with his political alliance during the 2015 Presidential and 2018 Local Government elections. He criticized the government for focusing on political dramas rather than public welfare.
