Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa has accused the government of politicising the Easter Sunday attacks probe, alleging selective targeting and shielding individuals linked to funding the attacks. Speaking to journalists on Monday, Rajapaksa claimed that while some were being arrested, others connected to the financial aspects, including a National List figure, were being protected. He pointed to the arrests of former minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan and former intelligence chief Suresh Sale as examples of this alleged selective action. Rajapaksa also addressed his name being mentioned in court, stating his meeting with Pillayan while he was imprisoned in 2018/2019 was not a secret. The court proceedings on Monday involved the CID presenting progress on the investigation.
