The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) has announced that approximately 100,000 vehicle license plates printed in 2023 and 2024 are yet to be collected by their owners. Vehicle owners who applied for and received notification for these plates are urged to collect them before June 30. Collection can be done at the MVD headquarters in Narahenpita or at the relevant MVD branches located in district secretariats across the island. This measure aims to clear the significant backlog of unclaimed registration plates.
