Multiple Fatal Assaults Reported Across Sri Lanka

Over the past week, Sri Lanka has seen three distinct incidents of fatal assaults, each involving sharp weapons and escalating from altercations. In Pinwatta, Leslie Gunawardena Mawatha, a 37-year-old man was killed following an argument with a neighbour. Separately, in Gemunupura, Mattakkuliya, a 40-year-old resident died after a dispute with a group, who reportedly attacked him at his home. Furthermore, in Panamure, Weathura, a 46-year-old individual succumbed to injuries after being assaulted by two people with hands, feet, and sharp objects at another residence. Police are actively investigating all three cases, with two suspects already arrested in connection with the Panamure incident.
