Multiple Casualties in Consecutive School Shootings Across Turkey

Turkey has experienced two separate school shootings in as many days, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries. On Wednesday, an 8th-grade student opened fire at a middle school in Kahramanmaras province, killing at least nine people, including fellow pupils, and wounding at least 13 others. The assailant also died. This incident followed a shooting on Tuesday at a high school in Sanliurfa's Siverek district, where a 19-year-old former student used a shotgun to wound at least 16 people, including students and teachers, before taking his own life. The motive for the Sanliurfa attack remains unknown.
