MPs Appointed as District Health Coordinators to Boost Sri Lanka's Healthcare

Sri Lanka's government has approved a new initiative to appoint Members of Parliament as District Health Coordination Officers across all districts. This move, proposed by Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, aims to strengthen the coordination of healthcare services at the district level. The reform seeks to improve the efficiency of preventive and curative health services, address existing shortcomings, and ensure more effective resource allocation. The initiative also intends to enhance collaboration between central and provincial health institutions.
