Motorcycle Accidents Claim Lives in Polonnaruwa and Warakagoda

A 23-year-old man from Siripura died following a motorcycle accident on the Polonnaruwa-Mahiyanganaya road near the 41km post. The incident occurred when the rider reportedly lost control of the motorcycle while attempting to answer a phone call, causing it to veer off the road and collide with a tree. The victim was admitted to Dehiattakandiya Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Another individual on the motorcycle was reported uninjured. In a separate incident, a 24-year-old man identified as Nirman Tharaka Kumara Wijesinghe died after his motorcycle hit a telephone pole on the Warakagoda Diyakadua road. Wijesinghe, a resident of Diyakadua, Niyagodawewa, and an employee at a garment factory in Horana, was returning home from a religious event when the accident occurred.
