A 25-year-old engineering student from Moratuwa University, identified as Kadeer Kamanadan Mithusan from Chunnagam, Jaffna, tragically drowned in the Bentota sea on April 19th. He was reportedly swimming with a group of fellow students when he was caught by a strong wave and swept away. Despite efforts to rescue him, he was found deceased. Police have confirmed the incident and are conducting further investigations.
